The ones who show up when it’s inconvenient. When it’s exhausting. When no one’s watching… especially when visiting hours are over and MOM is still there, many hours afterwards.
For the past three weeks, I’ve had a front row seat to that kind of love.
Our daughter Emma has been in the hospital here in Long Beach. good doctors. Tireless nurses and even better PT and OT (therapists). People who truly care. But above all of them stood one constant force… her mother.
Every single day (and night), making that drive. Sitting beside her. Watching. Encouraging. Waiting. Loving.
That’s what mothers do.
And yesterday… Emma came home! And.....she's walking and speaking!
That moment hits different. The hospital routine fades. The real work begins again, but this time, it’s filled with something better. Presence. Home. Family. And yes, a mother still doing what she does best… caring without limits.
It got me thinking about my own mother.
Seventeen years under her roof shaped everything. I learned resilience before I knew the word. Kindness without conditions. How to take care of people. And yes… a deep love for food and chocolate that initially took root somewhere between France, Germany, and Canada. I refined it here in the US.
Mothers don’t stop being mothers. Ever.
So this year, I wanted to create something that feels like that kind of love.
Something comforting. Familiar to some of you. A little nostalgic. And done right.
Introducing our Mother’s Day Strawberry Cheesecake Bonbon.
We start with real strawberries. Slowly cooked down, crushed, reduced into a deep, rich sauce that carries both sweetness and a little edge. Then comes the cream cheese… smooth, slightly tangy, grounding everything into that unmistakable cheesecake note.
It’s not overly sweet. It’s balanced. It’s honest.
It tastes like something made with intention.
Beginning tomorrow, Sunday from 3 to 6 PM, and all through next week leading into Mother’s Day, this bonbon will be included in every 12-piece box.
